The Long Way Home | Old Heights Corner Store

Long Way Home

The Long Way Home is now available at Old Heights Corner Store at 5919 Kavanaugh Blvd. in the Historic Heights District of Little Rock. The world of shoes and fashion will forever pose challenges in conceiving a brand that is able to shine amongst the mundane, box stores. A brand existing outside of the proverbial box. One that beats the uninspired, dilapidated, corporate marketing malaise of product. OHCS leaps forward as an amazing concept from the creators of Rock City Kicks, a perfect representation of local culture. Their walls are built from the old gym floor in Clinton, AR High School. A work-of-art design. Classic and high-end memorabilia, official apparel, limited edition New Balance, Adidas, Nike. Make sure to visit this location when you are in the area. Great staff. Laid back atmosphere. The newest, most sought after styles. Wonderful music. The Old Heights Corner Store is also the retail headquarters of Arkansocks, a sock brand launched in 2015. Interestingly enough, the identity of Old Heights Corner Store remained veiled in a bit of secrecy until the grand opening. Rumors spread that a five-and-dime shop was being stocked. I had been searching for a location to place The Long Way Home. When I walked into OHCS, the search ended. I met Nate Perry and immediately pitched the idea. This was the place! Exactly what I had been looking for. To me, OHCS artistically reflects the culture my novel has been built upon. Basketball, sneakers, fashion, hip-hop, rock, the blues, and the inspiring culture that continues to grow and evolve with the times. All in a shoe shop. Outstanding. It is a brilliant Little Rock installation. Bursting with pride to make this the first brick-and-mortar retail location for The Long Way Home. Sending a ‘thank you’ to Nate Perry, Corey Bacon, and my Little Rock community for supporting local artists.
